Ano Poli: plan your stay

Ano Poli suits a stay built around old lanes, walls and views, with uphill travel accepted as part of the choice. The official destination walk distinguishes it from the lower central band.

At a glance: Stay among old streets and city walls if uphill walks suit you and your luggage.

Mornings and evenings

Plan an upper-city morning and the return after a lower-city evening. A scenic daytime route may be inconvenient with bags, a pushchair or tired legs after dinner.

Arrival and daily journeys

Trace the whole final connection from your chosen station or bus stop. Do not read a nearby central metro station as door-to-door access to the upper streets.

Before you book

  • Ask for the exact approach, steps at the entrance and luggage drop-off arrangements. Check the route in both directions, not just the downhill walk towards the centre.
  • Map the exact entrance and the last 500 metres, including gradients, steps and crossings. Ask the property about step-free access rather than assuming it from the area.
  • Confirm room orientation, recent noise reports, check-in arrangements and cancellation terms. If driving, get explicit confirmation of a parking space for your vehicle and dates.

When another base works better

Compare Aristotelous if level central walking is the priority, or Ladadika if most evenings will finish by the port. Visit Ano Poli without moving your accommodation if that trade-off works better.
