Dated event guide · 2026 edition ended 13 Sep

For TIF, choose a convenient route to the fair.

The 90th Thessaloniki International Fair ran from 5 to 13 September 2026 with Japan as honoured country and has now ended. This guide is kept as a record of how a daily fair visit changes the best stay edge; dates for the 2027 fair have not been verified.

At a glance: Stay near Sintrivani or the eastern centre for repeated fair access. Choose Aristotelous only when waterfront evenings matter as much as the exhibition. Use a direct Line 1 station farther out only after comparing the final walk and live service.

Official visitor essentials · checked 12 September 2026

The fair took place at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition & Congress Center, 154 Egnatias Street. The organiser published the following hours and ticket terms for 5–13 September 2026.

  • For 5–13 September, single-entry admission was €9 online or €12 at the ticket office once the early-bird offer had ended; eligible student and unemployed visitors could buy a €7 online ticket.
  • At the ticket office, admission for children aged 4–10 was €6 and the family ticket for 4+ people was €25, subject to the organiser’s eligibility and document rules.
  • A single-entry ticket permitted one admission on a chosen day. The named, non-transferable nine-day pass permitted one entry per day, not unlimited same-day re-entry. Free admission followed the organiser’s official rules.

Three areas for visits to the fair

least friction

Sintrivani / TIF edge

Best when fair visits fill most of your day. Plan each visit around the entrance conditions of your ticket; do not assume you can leave and re-enter on the same ticket.

balanced

Agias Sofias / eastern centre

A useful middle ground between fair access, central food streets and the waterfront.

city-first

Aristotelous / central waterfront

Choose this when the fair is one part of a broader city break and evening location matters more.

From SKG airport on a fair day

  • The airport lists 2X to Nea Elvetia and 3X to Mikra for metro connections. Compare the onward service toward Sintrivani, check the train destination and confirm bus and station operation for your visit.
  • The airport also lists 1X/1N to the city centre, New Railway Station and KTEL Makedonia. Compare the stop-to-door walk for your exact stay rather than choosing from the line name alone.
  • The airport bus terminal is in the Arrivals area, in front of Exit 4 of Terminal 1. Buy and schedule details remain with the airport, OASTH and OSETH live pages.

Arrival and the last kilometre

  • The organiser identifies Sintrivani and Panepistimio as the nearby metro stations. Check live station operation before relying on either route.
  • Private vehicles may not enter the Exhibition Center without a special permit. The organiser points visitors to the municipal City Hall and YMCA parking facilities nearby, but availability is not guaranteed.
  • Confirm the exact entrance for your pavilion or event before choosing the final walking route.

Japan in Pavilion 13

Japan’s honoured-country programme was centred in Pavilion 13 and spanned business, arts, gastronomy and education. The organiser’s pages stay linked as the record of that edition, not as a schedule for a future fair.

Check before you travel

The 2026 fair has ended, and the hours, prices and programme above are archived organiser facts for that edition. Do not treat them as confirmation for 2027; Salonica will refresh this guide only when the organiser publishes official dates.

Booking sequence

  • Confirm your main fair entrance and daily schedule.
  • Compare door-to-gate walking, not district centres.
  • Check live Line 1 status for every rail-led option.
  • Prefer cancellable terms when programme or travel plans are not final.
