Area comparison

Flat and central, late and lively, or uphill and atmospheric.

These are three different trip rhythms, not three interchangeable labels for ‘central Thessaloniki’. Choose the trade-off you can live with at 08:00 and 00:30.

At a glance: Aristotelous is the most practical all-round choice. Choose Ladadika for late dining and nightlife, and Ano Poli for old streets and views if uphill walks and fewer nearby transport options suit you.

The stay map

Eleven areas to help you choose where to stay.

Start with the five central areas. Look east or west if work, family or an event will take you there most days.

Aristotelous & central waterfront

Pins help you locate areas; they do not show administrative boundaries. Kalamaria, Panorama, Stavroupoli and Evosmos are in other municipalities. Consider these areas if most of your plans are nearby.

Fast comparison

balanced

Aristotelous

Best for first-time orientation, central walking and a mixed itinerary. Exact blocks vary in traffic and late noise.

night

Ladadika

Best for a food-and-evening trip near the port side. Ask for a quiet room if sleep matters.

place

Ano Poli

For old streets, city walls and quiet neighbourhood mornings. Check whether the uphill walk back suits you before booking.

A better way to compare listings

  • Plot the exact entrance, not the neighbourhood the listing claims.
  • Check the last 500 metres on foot, including slope.
  • Read recent noise comments by room orientation, not only the property average.
  • Confirm whether your main station or event is a direct ride or a transfer.

Where Ano Poli begins

The official city walk places the Old Town between the city walls to the north and east and Olympiados Street to the south. Check the exact address when a listing uses a broad ‘centre’ label.

One local food stop

Salento Wood Fired Street Food at 76 Eleftheriou Venizelou, close to Olympou, is our casual Italian street-food and pizza suggestion. This is an editorial recommendation, not a sponsored placement; verify its current opening hours and menu before going.
