Thessaloniki Film Festival 2026: where to stay

The 67th Thessaloniki Film Festival runs 5–15 November 2026. Its full programme and screening venues are now published; choose your screenings before deciding whether the centre or the port side makes the better base.

Confirmed dates and official programme

The organiser has published the full 2026 programme for 5–15 November. Screenings take place at Olympion and Pavlos Zannas on Aristotelous Square, four theatres in the Port warehouses, and Makedonikon. Check the time, subtitles, access and ticket availability for each screening directly with the festival.

Check the year on the programme you open: an older festival page is not confirmation of the 2026 schedule. For subtitles, age suitability or accessibility, use the information for the exact screening.

Choose a base for your screenings

Olympion is on Aristotelous Square; the Frida Liappa, Tonia Marketaki, John Cassavetes and Stavros Tornes theatres are at the Port. A central or Ladadika base can shorten repeated walks between those clusters. Makedonikon adds a separate route, so compare your actual screening sequence with your accommodation address.

Ano Poli can suit a stay led by atmosphere and views, provided you accept the uphill return. A base near the fair grounds is not automatically the best choice for the film festival: let the published screening locations decide.

Arrival, parking and the late return

Use the airport guide for your arrival, then check the current service to your address. With a car, confirm the property’s parking arrangements and plan the final walk to each venue. Do not assume a central address includes parking.

For a late screening, check the journey home before buying another timed ticket or booking dinner. Confirm the last service if you rely on public transport; otherwise plan a walk that suits the group or a taxi. Ask the venue directly about step-free access.

Meals, companions and booking order

Keep a comfortable gap between screenings, meals and travel. Choose a meal near the place where the evening finishes. Companions who skip a screening can use the food or family guide and meet you at an agreed place afterwards.

Choose the days and venues first, compare suitable areas second, then check accommodation for those dates. Read cancellation terms and ask about late arrival or luggage storage directly. Our area guides lead to the existing accommodation comparison when you are ready.
