Confirmed dates and official programme
The municipal festival site confirmed 1 to 26 October 2026 for the 61st edition, which opened at MOMUS by the fairgrounds and closed at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall. Tickets and free entries varied by production and were sold through the organiser's channels.
The 2026 festival has ended. Its dates, venues and ticketing are an archived record, not a guide to the next edition; Salonica will refresh this page only when the municipality publishes the 2027 programme.
Choose a base for your Dimitria evenings
Dimitria venues stretch from the Port Warehouses and the Royal Theatre on the waterfront to the Concert Hall on the eastern coast road. Aristotelous and the central waterfront reach the western venues on foot; the eastern centre around the White Tower shortens the return from the Concert Hall.
Ladadika suits port-warehouse evenings and late dinners, with the usual street-noise question. Ano Poli offers atmosphere, but an uphill return after a late performance needs a taxi plan.
Arrival, parking and the late return
Use the airport guide for your arrival and check the current service to your address. With a car, confirm the property's parking and expect road closures around the 28 October parade; a central address rarely includes a parking space.
After a late performance, check the last bus or metro service or plan a walk that suits the group. Ask each venue directly about step-free access.
Meals, companions and booking order
Choose a meal near the venue where the evening ends; the concert hall area and the port have different options. Companions can use the food or family guides and meet you afterwards.
Pick the productions and dates first, compare areas second, then check accommodation for those dates with cancellable terms. Our area guides lead to the accommodation comparison when you are ready.
