Confirmed dates and official programme
The organiser confirms 4 to 14 March 2027 for the 29th edition on its news pages. Screening times, the final venue list and ticket packages are published closer to the festival; this guide does not confirm them. Check the year of any programme you open.
The dates overlap with Carnival: Tsiknopempti falls on 4 March and Clean Monday on 15 March 2027, which fills restaurants and some transport on those days. Book meals early on the first and last weekend.
Choose a base for your screenings
The Olympion sits on Aristotelous Square and the festival's warehouse screens sit at the port, a ten-minute walk apart. Aristotelous and the central waterfront reach both on foot; Ladadika is the closest base to the port screens, with the usual question about late noise.
Ano Poli suits a stay led by atmosphere if you accept an uphill return in March weather. A base near the fairgrounds is not automatically useful for this festival: let the published screening venues decide.
Arrival, parking and the late return
Use the airport guide for your arrival, then check the current service to your address. With a car, confirm the property's parking and plan the last walk to each venue; do not assume a central address includes parking.
For a late screening, check the journey home before buying another timed ticket or booking dinner. Confirm the last service if you rely on public transport; otherwise plan a short walk or a taxi. Ask the venue directly about step-free access.
Meals, companions and booking order
Keep a comfortable gap between screenings, meals and travel, and choose a meal near the place where the evening finishes. Companions who skip a screening can use the food or family guides and meet you afterwards.
Choose the days and venues first, compare suitable areas second, then check accommodation for those dates. Read cancellation terms and ask about late arrival or luggage storage directly. Our area guides lead to the accommodation comparison when you are ready.
